Two restaurants and a clothing store soon will be added to the mixed-use landscape of Hilton Head Island’s Shelter Cove Towne Centre.

Wilmington, N.C.-based franchise Charlie Graingers — featuring hot dogs, brisket and barbecue — will open in September at 40 Shelter Cove Lane, Suite 180. Clothing retailer Birdie James will open in April at 28 Shelter Cove Lane, Suite 111, and the owners of Beaufort’s Wren will open another restaurant, Jane’s Bistro, this summer at 28 Shelter Cove Lane, Suite 109.

Michelle Taylor, owner of Birdie James, described her 2,000-square-foot boutique as “generational,” aimed at women ranging in age from late 20s to 80s.

“Our target audience is the mother-daughter shopper,” Taylor said.

Although Taylor has never owned a boutique before, she operated an online styling business in Richmond, Va. — where she lived prior to moving to Amelia Island, her current home — in which she would provide “closet audits” for women seeking to revamp their wardrobes.

The expected price point for items at Birdie James will range from $38 up to $500, Taylor said. She said she particularly enjoys monochromatic looks and clothes for “all shapes and sizes.”

Charlie Graingers was described by franchise owner Marcie Bindes as a gourmet hog dog restaurant. She said Charlie Graingers recently started franchising and has plans to launch 100 restaurants on the East Coast this year. The Hilton Head restaurant will open in a 1,200-square-foot space near the Shelter Cove Community Park.

An online menu for Charlie Graingers includes hot dogs, sandwiches and sides such as chicken gumbo, cole slaw and baked beans.

Jane’s Bistro will open in a 4,000-square-foot space this June, according to Roni Allbritton, the center’s general manager.

Shelter Cove Towne Centre is in its final stages of retail development, Allbritton said. She added one more phase of retail development is planned this year that will include four to five new stores and restaurants, completing the center’s shopping and dining portion. Apartments will soon be added to the center, fulfilling the mixed-use vision of developer Southeastern Development Associates.

The final tenants will be announced soon, Allbritton said.

In addition to the new tenants, beer-tavern franchise World of Beer, in Suite 140, will open March 21, according to Susan DeLano, a spokeswoman for the center.
