The eighth annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest will take place March 1 to 7 at various locations on Hilton Head Island.

The event serves as the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation's annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Island Recreation Scholarship Fund, MD Anderson Cancer Research Center and the American Cancer Society. It is presented by Hilton Head Monthly and forkandfun.com.

Events are:

3-7 p.m. March 1: Kickoff Fish Fry and Oyster Roast, Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks
6:30 p.m. March 2: Cocktail and Appetizer Reception and Dinner, Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar
10 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 2-6: Lowcountry Seafood Experience on the Water
3-4 p.m. March 6: "A Fisherman's Guide to Seafood in our Lowcountry Restaurants," at Coastal Discovery Museum
11 a.m.-7 p.m. March 7: Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest at Shelter Cove Community Park.
