Spartina 449 is planning the opening of its first Hilton Head Island store later this month, company officials said Tuesday.
Jessica Maples, Spartina marketing and communications manager, said the store could open the last week in August at its Shelter Cove Towne Centre location.

Talbots opened a new location at Shelter Cove Towne Center on Hilton Head Island on Tuesday.
The store, at 28 Shelter Cove Lane, Suite 107, joins several location in Beaufort County, including two in Bluffton and one in Beaufort.

A new luxury apartment complex at Shelter Cove Towne Centre will begin leasing its 240 units in late August, with the first residents expected to arrive in November, a marketing representative said Wednesday.
A release said Southeastern Development has announced the name of the “luxury residences”: WaterWalk.
“Offering sweeping waterfront views, maintenance-free living, resort-style amenities and a luxury lifestyle, WaterWalk will be like nothing else available on Hilton Head Island,” the release said.
Pricing information has not yet been released, said Susan DeLano of World Design Marketing when contacted Wednesday.

Travel + Leisure magazine readers voted Hilton Head Island “Best Island” in the continental United States in 2017, the second year in a row. The island ranked second in this year’s all-world list, too.
The travel magazine with nearly 5 million readers around the globe described Hilton Head Island as a South Carolina outpost where generations of families have made an annual trip “a tradition and little wonder,” where there is something for “everyone who wants to be outside — and all activities can be reached by bicycle.”

Meatball Madness is coming to Hilton Head Island.
What started as a small idea has mushroomed into this:
The Italian-American Club of Hilton Head Island plans to make the world’s largest meatball — about 1,500 pounds worth — on Nov. 18 at Shelter Cove Community Park.
In addition, the Meatball Madness Fest is to include a 5K race (the Meatball Run), a competition by local restaurants and organizations for best meatball in three categories (the Brawl of the Balls), and a meatball-eating contest.
