Roll out of bed and meet us at Shelter Cove Towne Centre, at the park where we all met Thursday night. Carpool and park near Belk’s by 6am.
Bag drop will be available in the park and we will TRY to have coffee available for everyone. Water and fruit will be waiting, for sure. As will portajohns.
Race will start promptly at 6:30am and the first two miles of the course are on pathways and sidewalks.
Please note that we are crossing Highway 278 at approximately Mile 1 and we are required to have the sheriff’s office there to ensure everyone’s safety.
The officers will only be there until 7am (that gives you 30 minutes to get to mile one). If you are late to the start, you’ll need to make sure you can run to this intersection by 7am.
You’ll step onto the beach at Burke’s Beach, at mile 2. In addition to water, snacks, and sports drink, we’ll have portajohns here and we suggest everyone use them.
There will be additional bathroom available along the course but you will have to leave the beach to access them!
The sun will be rising as you enter the beach and low tide is at 5:18am so we’ll have plenty of wide beaches this morning.
The course is basically two miles of pathways, then five miles of beach, and then 3 miles of pathways to the finish line.
The after-party starts around 8:30 and breakfast will be catered by our dear friends at the Lunch Lady.
