Idol fans get ready — for an entirely new ball game.

Now that Bluffton’s Lee Jean is among the show’s “Top 10” finalists, fans can expect to see a new level of intensity.

The show returns this week, but will only air Thursday and, in fact, will run one night a week until the “Grand Finale Week,” which kicks off April 5.

Jean, 16, has been making regular appearances on the reality music show competition since January.

According to the program’s website, viewers will find out which finalists made it into the Top 8 after the American viewing public voted last week, meaning two will go home.

A watch party and fundraising event for Jean is set for 6 p.m. Thurday, at the Rooftop Bar at Poseidon, 38 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head.

For those who prefer to watch along at home, this week’s live two-hour show is at 8 p.m. Thursday.
