Several Town of Hilton Head Island parks were reopened Tuesday as recovery from Hurricane Matthew continues, according to a news release.

Coligny Beach Park, Alder Lane, Shelter Cove Community Park and Compass Rose Park are now open. Restrooms there also are working, although the interactive water features at Coligny Beach Park, Compass Rose Park and Shelter Cove Community Park will remain closed until further notice. Also, the parking spaces at Compass Rose Park remain closed, but pedestrian access is open.

Special-event applications, required for outdoor events in which 500 or more attendees are expected, are not being considered until further notice.
